NOW HIRING: Part-Time Classroom and On-Road Instructors
Do you remember passing your road test? Of course, you do. It's a right of passage. Everyone has their own learning-to-drive story. Do you want to be a part of changing someone's life? Use your skills to help them gain confidence and independence.
Applicants must be 21 or older. We offer instructor certification to qualifying applicants. Grand Prix alumni, family, and friends are encouraged to apply. We will only train those who will work for Grand Prix. A CORI check is required, and applicants must provide a copy of their high school diploma or GED.
We are currently hiring for all Cape Cod locations. Needed hours include after-school, weekends, vacations, and summer hours, but you make your schedule. The majority of hours must be when teenagers are not in school. We require 15 weekend hours per month.
Training Requirements
Applicants must complete the following requirements to be eligible for employment at Grand Prix Driving School:
- Completion of 30-hour driver education course
- 15 hours of student classroom teaching
- 15 hours of in-car observation
- Two-hour parent class
- In-office time to learn paperwork procedures
- Successful completion of written multiple choice RMV exam
The first part of any training is taking the driver's education classroom session. During that time, you sit and observe the classroom instructor. We then require you to co-teach 15 hours of that class. After the classroom session, you must complete 15 hours of backseat student driving observation with a licensed driving instructor.
At some point during training, you will complete a two-hour parent class. You'll also need to meet with office staff to learn how to complete paperwork. Upon completing your requirements, you must take a written knowledge exam at the RMV, similar to the permit test you would take to get your instructor license.
